Acceptance and license
By using Read First, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, subject to these Terms and the App Store rules.
Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. If these Terms conflict with Apple’s standard EULA, the terms that give Apple the rights or protections it requires will control.
Subscriptions and free trial
Read First offers a 7-day free trial followed by an auto-renewing subscription priced at $9.99 per month or $49.99 per year. Available prices and currencies may vary by country and will be shown in the App Store before purchase.
- Payment is charged through your Apple ID after the free trial unless you cancel.
- Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- Your Apple ID may be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.
- You can manage or cancel in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
- Any unused portion of a free trial may be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
Refunds and billing disputes are handled by Apple under its policies. If your subscription ends, app locks are lifted and subscriber features may stop working.
Screen Time limitations
Read First relies on Apple’s Family Controls and Screen Time frameworks. Operating-system changes, device settings, permissions, bugs, emergency features, or other circumstances may allow a lock to be bypassed or may cause a lock to behave unexpectedly. We do not guarantee that any selected app will always remain blocked or that the app will prevent every attempt to use it.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for choosing appropriate lock settings, keeping access to emergency services and essential tools, entering accurate reading progress, and using the app lawfully. Do not misuse, reverse engineer, disrupt, or attempt unauthorized access to the app or its services except where applicable law expressly allows it.
Not medical advice
Read First is a habit and productivity tool. It is not medical, psychological, therapeutic, or other professional advice, and it is not a treatment for addiction or any health condition. Seek qualified professional help if phone use is causing distress or harm.
Availability and changes
The app is provided “as is” and “as available.” We may update, suspend, change, or discontinue features. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits, missed communications, loss of access, or device-related harm arising from your use of or inability to use Read First. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability will not exceed the amount you paid for the app during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms when the app or applicable requirements change. The date above identifies the latest version. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms where permitted by law.
